At 4.15 pounds, this alloy pump is nearly three pounds lighter than an original cast iron pump, a true advantage beyond the undeniable “cool factor.” Applications: 3.8 E-Type MK II MK IX Engine Numbers NC.7001 to NC.9999 and all NE-series engines 3.4S/3.8S Early 3.8 MK X This pump is identical to our cast iron C15694 pump other than the alloy construction for light weight and cool looks. XKs Unlimited's water pumps are faithful reproductions of the originals. We've even included a non-functioning bearing set screw to retain the original appearance, even though the modern sealed bearings used do not require its use. Our pumps are cast with high-quality, permanent, metal molds. They're much more expensive than the wooden molds commonly used for limited production runs but yield a far more accurate casting with less flashing and therefore less grinding. Compare our pumps to other reproductions on the market. The differences are dramatic. Modern manufacturing techniques and state-of-the-art internal components are used to produce a quality part that will give years of trouble-free service. The pump casting is inspected, then CNC milled and bored to exacting dimensions to ensure proper alignment and a good bearing seal. The shafts and the permanently lubricated and sealed bearings are upgraded and of the best quality available. The carbon housing-to-impeller seal is also of upgraded quality. Finally, the impeller is designed for maximum flow. A gasket and all required fittings are included. Part number CO-15694A fits 3.8 E-Type, MK IX Engine Numbers NC.7001 to NC.9999 and all NE-series engines, MK II, 3.4S/3.8S and early 3.8 MK X. Original pumps carry casting number C14944, which was the part number for the bare casting and not the complete pump.
